Creating GIFs from Images
GIFs are everywhere β social media, messaging, blogs, and presentations. Our free tool lets you create animated GIFs from static images.
How GIF Animation Works
A GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) file contains multiple frames displayed in sequence, creating animation. Each frame has:
- An image
- A delay (how long it shows)
- A disposal method (how to transition)
Creating Your GIF
- Select 2 or more images
- Arrange them in order
- Set the delay between frames (100-500ms typical)
- Choose whether to loop
- Generate and download
Tips for Great GIFs
- Use images with the same dimensions
- Keep frame count reasonable (5-20 frames)
- Shorter delays = smoother animation
- Optimize file size by limiting colors
